Getting There

By Air – Durban is easily accessible from the UK, especially with the recently launched direct flight from London Heathrow departing on certain weekdays.

By Road – It’s just a 20-minute drive from the International Airport before you reach the coastline of Durban, or 30 minutes to the city itself. Heading North along the coast to the wetlands takes roughly 3 hours, and to the Battlefields is around 4 hours 30 minutes inland.

KwaZulu Natal National Parks

Located on the Indian Ocean coast is the World Heritage listed St. Lucia Wetlands Park, a vast area of waterways, forests and spectacular dunes. The lovely seaside resort of St. Lucia has fine beaches and makes a great base for exploring the Wetlands.

The beautiful Hluhluwe-Imfolozi National Park is the oldest of South Africa’s game parks and renowned for its success in rhino conservation. Game drives can be taken amongst scenic landscapes in search of lion, cheetah, elephant, rhino, zebra and scores of native bird species. It offers a range of tented camps and lodges both in and near the park.
