Dallas & The 2026 Football World Cup

We can help you plan and book your holiday to Dallas and Texas for the Football World Cup in June and July 2026.

What is the best way to get to Dallas?

Both British Airways and American Airlines offer a direct flight from London Heathrow to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. The flight time is around 10 and a half hours. Other airlines offer indirect routes with layovers at other US Cities.

A different way of arriving in Dallas is by train. The Texas Eagle Route by Amtrak, connects Chicago with San Antonio in Texas, with a stop in Dallas.

Which Dallas Stadium is used for the world cup?

The AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Dallas will host nine matches in the 2026 Football World Cup. The stadium is the home ground of the famous Dallas Cowboys NFL franchise, and has a capacity for 94,000 spectators.

What is the best way to get to the AT&T Stadium in Dallas?

The AT&T Stadium is located about 18 miles from Downtown Dallas, and 15 miles from Fort Worth, making both cities perfect for visiting football fans. The Stadium isn’t in the centre of Arlington, and nor is there a connecting public transport system that connects the stadium with both Dallas or Fort Worth, so the only options to get to the stadium on matchdays are by car. Either a rental vehicle or a taxi/ride share option.

There maybe a special shuttle bus service that will be organised for the Football World Cup matches, if there is demand, but that has not been confirmed at this time.

How do I get tickets for the 2026 Football World Cup?

General ticket sales for the 2026 World Cup will be released exclusively via FIFA, and should only be purchased via official channels. Freedom Destinations cannot include match day tickets in holiday packages.

Where is best place to stay in Dallas for the 2026 Football World Cup?

The Dallas-Fort Worth area has a large number of different hotels in both downtown locations. There is also the historic town of Grapevine, near to the airport, which is worth consideration.

The Sheraton and Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Dallas provide good bases for seeing the sights of the city, as well as getting out to see the sights of Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. Alternatively you could choose to stay in Fort Worth at a hotel such as The Ashton, or you may prefer to stay in Grapevine at the Hyatt. All are good options.

What is the expected weather in Dallas throughout the tournament?

Dallas in June and July typically experiences hot weather, with temperatures ranging from 24°C to 35°C (75°F to 95°F). Visiting football fans should bring a hat and sunscreen, and keep hydrated when out and about.

What else can I do in Dallas away from the football?

In downtown Dallas it is possible to wander through the Dallas Arts District, which is home to world-class museums like the Dallas Museum of Art, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. You could also visit the sixth floor of Dealey Plaza to learn about the history around the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

In Fort Worth you can experience the Wild West with daily cattle drives, rodeos, live music and authentic Texas BBQ in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. After you have exhausted your cowboy dreams you can head to the Fort Worth Water Gardens to cool off in the cascading waterfalls and peaceful pools.

As it sounds the charming town of Grapevine is well-known for its wineries. You can wander through the historic downtown, and visit local wine tasting rooms as well as the boutique shops and art galleries.

What other World Cup host cities combine well with Dallas?

The obvious host city to twin with Dallas is Houston. Either a 4-hour drive or a short flight away, Houston is hosting seven matches at the 2026 Football World Cup. Alternatively Dallas also connects well with some of the West Coast cities such as Los Angeles and San Francisco.
