Wherever you go in Vancouver the backdrop is going to be either the blue seas of the Pacific Ocean or the mountain peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Around Downtown you can enjoy a stroll through Vancouver’s historic Gastown district, known of its cobblestone streets and famous steam-powered clock. It is also home to trendy boutiques and fashionable restaurants. Granville Island is also well-known for its dining options as well as its market and artisan shops.Perhaps the best place to go to absorb the spectacular views is Stanley Park, which combines lush forests, beaches and coastal paths, all within walking distance of downtown. We recommend renting a bike if you wish to complete a loop around the sea wall.
Just outside the city, a must-visit is the Capilano Suspension Bridge. This 137 metre rope-bridge crosses the Capilano River and provides access to lush rainforest and treetop canopy walkways. Similarly a trip to Grouse Mountain will provide plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking and zip-lining. You can also take the cable car up the mountain for spectacular view.
