Seattle Tacoma (SeaTac) International Airport is a large airport situated between the city of Seattle and neighbouring Tacoma. There are direct flights from London to Seattle daily, operated by a variety of carriers including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Delta Airlines. Seattle is also well connected with other USA airports.
Which Seattle Stadium is used for the world cup?
Lumen Field is the home stadium of the Seattle Seahawks NFL Team, and the Seattle Sounders Football Team (soccer) and it is located just south of Downtown Seattle, making it within walking distance of many hotels. The stadium can also easily be accessed by Link Light Rail, and the bus service operated by King Country Metro. King Street rail station is also adjacent to the stadium for people travelling from outside of Seattle.
How do I get tickets for the 2026 Football World Cup?
General ticket sales for the 2026 World Cup will be released exclusively via FIFA, and should only be purchased via official channels. Freedom Destinations cannot include match day tickets in holiday packages.
Will there be a Fanzone and other events around Seattle?
The city is planning a Fan Zone and other events near to the stadium on matchdays. There will also be other celebrations around Seattle near to the 4th July weekend. These will be announced by the city closer to the matchdays.
Where is best place to stay in Seattle for the 2026 Football World Cup?
With the Lumen Stadium being so close to downtown, it is possible to stay anywhere in Downtown Seattle and not be far from the stadium. You may like to stay in a waterfront location, in hotel such as the Edgewater, or you can stay in the heart of Downtown Seattle at the Palihotel. The shortest walk to the stadium is probably from the Hotel 1000, but this could be busy on matchdays.
What is the expected weather in Seattle throughout the tournament?
Seattle in June typically experiences mild weather, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 21°C (50°F to 70°F. It’s advisable to pack layers to accommodate varying conditions.
What else can I do in Seattle away from the football?
Seattle is well-known for its coffee and craft beer scene, but if you can drag yourself away from the bars and coffee shops, then there is plenty to explore around Seattle. Perhaps begin with the views from the top of the iconic Space Needle, then take a wander around Pike’s Place Market, the oldest farmers’ market in America. For something different visit the Museum of Pop Culture or Chihuly Garden for the glass sculptures. Back towards the airport, the Museum of Flight is well worth a visit, and if you have a car then the National Parks of Mount Rainier and Olympic are only a short drive out of the city.
What other host cities combine well with Seattle?
Being situated on America’s Pacific Coast, Seattle combines well with other West Coast host cities, like San Francisco and Los Angeles. It is possible to travel between them all by train, car and motorhome as well as flying. Seattle is also just across the border from Vancouver, which is hosting some of the Canada National Team’s World Cup matches. Vancouver can be reached by road, rail and ferry from Seattle.
